The Southern Interior is in for a bout of heavy snow, according to Environment Canada. After seeing roughly five centimetres fall on interior highway passes Saturday morning, the government weather office is forecasting another 10 to 15 centimetres by Sunday morning.

The Coquihalla Highway is expected to be hit the hardest, but special weather statements are also in effect for the Trans Canada Highway between Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, Highway 3, Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass and the Okanagan Connector.

DriveBC has issued warnings of compact snow and slippery conditions on multiple area highways. If you are heading out on the road this weekend, you can check the DriveBC website for the latest conditions.
