While Democrats and Republicans battled for control of the Senate in the U.S. midterm elections Tuesday, a 3-year-old from Illinois was devastated to be left out of the voting process.
Erica Hallman Nagy from Yorkville, Il., a small town southwest of Chicago, took her young son Xavier with her to vote. When the boy found out he was 15 years shy of the eligible voting age, he wasn’t happy.
Did you want to vote?” his mom asked.
“Yeah,” Xavier said with a pained expression on his face.
“Did you want to vote by yourself?” mom said.
“Yeah,” replied Xavier.
But what really upset the civic minded youngster was when his mother asked “did you know there’s people out there who can vote that just don’t?”
The bombshell about voters not participating in the democratic process was too much for Xavier who lets out a wail.
