VANCOUVER – Happy Halloween!

B.C. can be a spooky place. Numerous locations have been investigated for paranormal activity and this Halloween we thought we would take a look at the top five, as provided by the Vancouver Paranormal Society.

Investigators have been called in to examine these places after reports of ghostly activity.

Number 5: Vancouver Police Museum:

Located at 240 E. Cordova Street in the Gastown neighbourhood of Vancouver, the Police Museum is a building that was once both the Coroner’s Court and autopsy facilities until 1980.

The Vancouver Paranormal Society says there has been an energy felt in the building, especially in the autopsy room and around weapons that were seized from criminals in the past.

Number four: James Cowan Theatre in Burnaby:

The theatre, inside the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, seats 285 people, and although ghostly activity here has not been confirmed, there have been numerous sightings of a woman in the theatre.

Number three: Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown:

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Located at 53 Water St. in Vancouver, there are rumours the ghost of a train conductor can be seen inside the restaurant and he frequents the old trolley car parked inside.

The conductor is known to sit at a table inside the trolley, which once belonged to the British Columbia Electric Railway Company’s electric trams.

According to the Vancouver Paranormal Society, the ghost of a small child has also been seen inside the restaurant and he apparently likes to surprise women inside the washroom.

Number two: Maritime Museum of B.C. in Victoria:

The building in Bastion Square was built to be the Supreme Court, but the first court in this area dates back to a log building located just north of the stakewall of Fort Victoria from 1853 to 1859. This building was also police barracks and a jail and the Vancouver Paranormal Society says there is documentation people were hung in the square at this site as well.

The museum also contains artifacts from shipwrecks, and visitors to the museum say they have heard chains rattling and seen ghostly figures of the men who lost their lives on this site.

The Vancouver Paranormal Society says this site gets the number one spot because over the years there have been a number of fatalities there. There are a few ghosts attached to the site and it appears they have no desire to move on anytime soon.
