WINNIPEG – Police are searching the woods of Pembina Valley Provincial Park for Travis Sukkau, 19, who failed to return home Thursday.

The Winkler man told his family he would be visiting the park but didn’t indicate when he would return, RCMP Const. David Portelance said. When he didn’t come back that evening, they called police.

“His family was concerned,” Portelance said. “Everybody’s working hard to try and locate him.”

Sukkau is five-foot-nine, weighs 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes and wears square brown glasses, police said.

Police found Sukkau’s car in a wooded area of the park, where it had been parked since before noon on Thursday, they said.

They believe another vehicle was parked in the area during that time but left before the search started. RCMP ask that anyone who was in the area and noticed anything to call police.
