Arson suspected in North York fire

WATCH: Toronto police say a molotov cocktail might be to blame for a fire at a North York townhouse.

TORONTO – Police say arson was the cause of an early morning fire in northwest Toronto.

Crews were called to a two-alarm fire at a townhouse complex on Grandravine Drive.

Everyone escaped unharmed, including the residents’ pets.

Officials say it looks like something was tossed through the front kitchen window of one of the units that sparked the fire.

Police told Global News investigators found butane lighters and accelerant nearby and say witnesses saw a suspect fleeing the scene shortly after the fire started.
