WINNIPEG – It’s not the typical Thanksgiving get together, but getting lost in a cornfield, petting animal  and climbing bails of hay are how some families are spending their holiday weekend.

“It gets the kids out, there are fun animals to see, there are different activities for different ages,” said one Winnipeg mom. ” I have my older niece who’s 7 and my son who’s 18 months, and there’s a variety for everyone.”

The owner of A Maze In Corn in St. Adolphe, Angie Masse, says for some, venturing outside the city limits, has become an annual tradition.

“It’s becoming a family tradition, I think people love to come outdoors and work off some energy, head home and feel good about eating their turkey after,” Masse said.

A tower in the middle of the corn field offers a birds eye view of the maze.  For anyone brave enough to take the plunge, the newest attraction offered to visitors a zip line.
