We’ll kick things off at 6:45 with a chat with Scott Jones and Henk van Leeuwen with Easter Seals Nova Scotia as they prepare to repel down one of Halifax’s tallest office buildings on Friday for the annual ‘Drop Zone’ fundraiser. We’ll find out how Scott is doing nearly a year after an attack left him paralyzed.

The third annual Bright Business Conference is underway in Halifax. At 7:15 we’ll talk with keynote speaker, Cape Breton native and big-wig Annette Verschuren. The former president of Home Depot Canada and Asia has a deep passion for sustainability and she’ll tell what lies ahead for energy efficiency here in Nova Scotia and how it could help to shape our economic future.

At 7:45 we’ll be wakin’ up the neighbours with a performance by The award winning Dartmouth & District Pipe Band in our Global Halifax parking lot. Pipe Major Scott Long will also give us details on what is shaping up to be a milestone 2015 as the band gets set to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

We kick off a fun monthly segment with our friends at Woozles Children’s Book Store at 8:15!  Owner Suzy MacLean suggests fun fall books for kids of all ages – with a Woozles giveaway at the end.

It’s official! The scarecrows are up in Mahone Bay and that can only mean 1 thing! It’s time for the 18th Annual Great Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair. At 8:45 we’ll be joined by festival chairperson Lara Carrigan to tell us about this unique event that will attract thousands to the tiny village this weekend.

Staff and volunteers are giving the gift of comfort to those in need. At 8:50 we’ll chat with folks from Share the Warmth who are creating quilts for shelters in our region.
