LETHBRIDGE- Lethbridge Regional Police are investigating after a woman was found dead Wednesday afternoon.
Around 12:30 p.m., police responded to a call of an assault in the 400 block of 5th Street South. The victim was originally able to speak with police but quickly went into medical distress, and died in hospital shortly after. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday in Calgary.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested in the original assault, but police are awaiting autopsy results to determine if the death is directly related to the assault.
