TORONTO – A startled baby coyote made its way into a Scottsdale, Arizona home last week and decided to take a long nap in a fireplace — and not even a maraca-wielding homeowner could wake it up.
Jonathan Radow and his dog Karma were about to leave for work Thursday when he noticed there was a 25-pound coyote in his house.
“I did get my firearm and I am trained with a weapon,” Radow told CBS News. “I pulled it out in case I needed to use it.”
Radow decided not to use the 9mm handgun. Instead, he and his neighbour got out Radow’s trusted maracas.
The homeowner called 911 and a short time later an officer — armed with a broom — tried to help wake the animal and remove it from the home.
But it wasn’t until animal control arrived that the coyote was awakened and taken away to be released into the wilderness.
