Man in hospital after Pointe-aux-Trembles collision

MONTREAL — A driver is seriously injured after his vehicle collided with a truck in Pointe-aux-Trembles Friday night.

The driver, who was apparently speeding, hit the back of the heavy truck on Notre-Dame street East, at the intersection of Joseph-Versailles boulevard, just before 6 p.m., police said.

The Jaws of Life were used to free the man, who is in his 20s, from his vehicle.

Despite his injuries, his life is not considered in danger.

Police plan to speak to him when his condition permits to determine the circumstances of the collision.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
