MONT-TREMBLANT — The body of an 18-year-old woman has been found after her canoe capsized late Friday night in Caribou Lake, near Mont-Tremblant.

The woman was out on the lake around midnight with another woman of the same age when it tipped over.

They cried out for help and a friend came to rescue them in a kayak.

He found one of them and brought her to shore.

He returned to search for the other but could not locate her.

Sûreté du Québec divers located the woman’s body at about 3:00 p.m. Saturday following an overnight search.
