We’ll get things started at 6:45 with a chat with an award winning filmmaker about a tale that, more than 150 years later, still fascinates millions. Bashar Shbib will tell us about his journey making The Search for Evangeline,  a documentary now showing at the Atlantic Film Festival.

At 7:15 we’ll talk with the director of one of the most anticipated documentaries premiering at the Film Festival on Saturday night. Bill MacGillivray will stop by the red table to talk about “Danny” the National Film Board documentary that looks at the life of former Newfoundland and Labrador premier Danny Williams. The film captures the man who many from that province credit with reinventing their pride and bringing the formerly independent colony into prosperity.

And we’ll continue our look at documentary films at the festival at 7:45 with an interview with the two Halifax filmmakers behind “Edge of East”.  Jackie Torrens and Jessica Brown will be by to tell us about their film  that takes a close look at three thriving subcultures here in Nova Scotia.
