MONCTON – New Brunswick’s Liberal leader has released a platform loaded with expenditures, but questions are arising over how Brian Gallant’s party would sustain the kind of spending promised in the document.
Central to the platform is a previously announced proposal to spend $900 million on infrastructure over six years.
Gallant says the measure would help create 10,000 jobs during a Liberal mandate.
He also says a Liberal government would increase taxes for the richest one per cent of New Brunswickers, and rescind property tax breaks for businesses.
NDP Leader Dominic Cardy says the platform is vague on details, particularly how much would be borrowed to fund the promises.
