Pregnant woman injured in purse snatching

WINNIPEG – Police arrested a suspect in an early morning downtown robbery that involved a pregnant woman.

The woman was walking with her mother near Carlton Street and Qu’Apple Avenue at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

A man approached the woman and offered to sell them drugs. When they refused the offer, the man allegedly grabbed the pregnant woman’s purse and took off with it.

The woman suffered minor injuries and went to the hospital for treatment.

A 35-year-old man was arrested five hours later without incident for his alleged involvement and is in custody.
