KELOWNA, B.C. – Fire crews were called to a fire in the Ellison neighbourhood near the Kelowna airport Wednesday evening when flames were seen coming from the engine compartment of an older model RV.

The motorhome pulled off Old Vernon Road at Black Road to deal with the incident.

Bystanders helped before firefighters arrived, dousing flames with water to prevent the fire from moving to the grass.

The Ellison fire department believes the fire was sparked by a mechanical issue.
