Coquitlam RCMP are searching for a purse snatching duo who have struck multiple times.

In the first incident, police say the suspects followed a 58-year-old woman around during the day and secretly recorded her PIN number when she made a purchase.

The duo then followed her home, where they distracted her by asking for water for their “overheating” engine.

While the victim was unloading groceries from her car, the suspects stole her purse.  According to police, the victim quickly called her credit card company and bank, but her card had already been used several times to withdraw money.

Police say the duo struck again on June 8. They stole the purse of 67-year-old woman using a similar tactic. Money was withdrawn from the victim’s account minutes later.

The suspects apparently were driving a black Honda and acting like they were in a relationship, say police.
