TORONTO – Spectators at the 2014 Waddington Air Show in Lincolnshire, England got more of a show than they expected last weekend.
As a Turkish F-16 came in for a landing, onlookers standing in a field outside of the grounds excitedly watched with their cameras out.
Their excitement soon turned to fear as the jet came in low, sending people jumping out of the way as it blasted over them with only a few feet of clearance.
One attendee can be heard yelling “Oh, my god!” just before the jet approaches.
There are no reports of injuries from the close call.
The air show had sold out after it was announced that next year’s is cancelled as the runway is going under a CDN$64M rebuild.
Over 150,000 people were expected to attend the two-day event.
