MONTREAL – Parents and educators at CPE Lafontaine have serious safety concerns for close to 100 children who attend the subsidized daycare.

The CPE on the Plateau has been waiting close to a decade for serious renovations to windows and the playground, ever since major structural work left the playground unfinished.

The biggest safety concern right now is the faulty fire escape, which administrators told Global News clearly puts kids and staff members at risk.

Local MNA Manon Massé was at the daycare on Friday, promising to pressure the Liberal government to give the renovation project the green light.
