VERNON–Vernon RCMP is seeking a person of interest, in regards to the rash of suspicious fires in the past month and a half.
They have now released some photos to the public.
RCMP are investigating the 16th suspicious fire in and around the city in the past month.
The latest one happened just after 10 p.m. Thursday at the Vernon courthouse.
A garbage bag was set ablaze under the rear bumper of a sheriff’s vehicle parked at the courthouse parking lot.
A passing police officer spotted the fire and put it out before it got out of control. Only a spare tire was scorched.
Police spotted a man fleeing on a mountain bike but were unable to catch him.
