A rainfall warning has been issued for eastern Ontario.

Though the GTA is expected to see a break Wednesday afternoon, more rain is possible into Thursday.

Environment Canada is calling for between 30 to 40 mm with higher amounts possible for the GTA, with 50 to 70 mm for eastern Ontario, including Ottawa.

A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring. Special weather statements are issued when the criteria will not be met for either situation, but that Environment Canada feels the public should be aware of.
