Kelowna: Worried about dog’s owner

KELOWNA — Kelowna RCMP have taken the unusual step of getting involved in a lost dog case.

The dog, a Shar-Pei, was found unattended on Wardlaw Avenue Monday afternoon at Pandosy Street.

“It had been seen in past days being walked on a leash in the area by a woman who appeared to be of Indonesian descent, says Sgt. Wade Seversen.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

He says the SPCA has not received any reports of a lost or stolen Shar-Pei.

“The person who reported the dog at large was concerned for the safety of the woman as she appeared in the past to be emotionally attached to the dog and would not likely abandon it,” says Seversen.

“We hope it is as simple as the woman not knowing the service the SPCA provides.”
