Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings issued for southwestern Ontario

TORONTO – The cold, snowy weather is out, but the rainy, thunderstorm season is just beginning.

On Tuesday afternoon, Environment Canada updated the number of severe thunderstorm warnings across southwestern Ontario.

Severe thunderstorm warnings (Updated 7:00 p.m. EST)

• Barrie – Orillia – Midland
• City of Hamilton
• Dufferin – Innisfil
• Elgin
• Haliburton
• Halton
• Huron
• London
• Oxford
• Parry Sound
• Peterborough
• Waterloo
• York – Durham

A thunderstorm watch is also in effect for Chatham, Owen Sound, the Bruce Peninsula, as well as Sarnia, Simcoe, Coldwater, Huntsville and surrounding areas.
