TORONTO – Have you ever felt awkward dining alone in a restaurant? Perhaps dining with an over-sized stuffed animal would help.

No need to pretend to be emailing important clients while at Tokyo’s Moomin Café because the restaurant seats its solo diners with massive stuffed toys to keep them from feeling lonely during their meal.

The plush toys are known as Moomins, which are characters from a popular Finnish children’s book series. The restaurant features menu items inspired by the picture books.

Social media users have been sharing their not-so-lonely dining experiences.
