Prince William, Kate end 10-day Australian tour

CANBERRA, Australia – Prince William and his wife, Kate, ended their 10-day tour of Australia on Friday with veterans’ day commemorations in the national capital.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a ceremony at the Australian War Memorial marking the 99th anniversary of the ill-fated Allied troop landing on Turkey’s Gallipoli Peninsula.

Their baby George later cried as the family boarded an Australian air force plane at Canberra airport after they were bid farewell by Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove.

This visit has taken William, the second in line for the British throne, to the cities of Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide as well at the Outback sandstone monolith Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock.
