Hit and run victim still in critical condition

AHUNTSIC – The victim of a recent hit and run in Montreal North continues to fight for his life in hospital.

22-year-old Michel Sepieh was struck by a speeding vehicle as he crossed Henri-Bourassa boulevard on Wednesday night.

Police say he was crossing at at intersection on the corner of Sackville when he was struck from behind and thrown 20 metres away.

The driver took off from the scene.

Sepieh suffered serious head injuries and is currently lying in the intensive care unit.

“He’s very bad,” admitted Simone Azaan, a close friend, who confirmed Sepieh underwent surgery on Thursday.

“He’s in a coma and he’s not getting well.”

Montreal police are making a plea for the public’s help to find the culprit.

“Some witnesses told us it was a metallic grey vehicle compact that left the scene,” said spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

Investigators found debris on the scene including small shattered pieces of the front bumper.

Police have said they are looking for a grey Honda Accord 1996-2000 or an Acura TL/RL/Legend 1996-1999.

“Everything is being done to get more information on the vehicle so we can meet the driver of the vehicle implicated in the accident,” said Brabant.

“We want to meet with him to know what happened.”

Raymond Cote, the victim’s neighbour, said Sepieh overcame a serious brain operation just a few years ago.

“He’s been through a lot,” he said.

The police are encouraging anyone with information to contact them anonymously at 514-393-1133.
