REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders have rewarded GM Brendan Taman with a contract extension.

The CFL club signed Taman to a two-year extension that keeps him with the Riders through the 2017 season. Taman also added the title of vice-president of football operations to his job description.

“Brendan has proven to be a key contributor to the recent accomplishments of our football club,” Riders president/CEO Jim Hopson said in a statement.

“This extension, along with (head coach) Corey Chamblin’s current extension, creates stability and continuity within the Riders football operations which is a key ingredient to longterm success.”

Earlier, Saskatchewan signed Chamblin to an extension that will keep him in Regina through 2017.

Taman, a Saskatoon native, has been the Riders’ general manager since 2010 and his current deal was set to expire following the 2015 campaign.
