School bus driver fired after being caught on camera taunting crying child

TORONTO – A Texas school bus driver was fired after she was caught on camera calling an upset child on a “cry baby.”

In the video obtained by news station KSAT, the driver for Floresville Elementary School is heard taunting the student before she urges other children on the bus to join in.

“Ready,” the driver who has been identified only as “Ms. Pat” is heard saying before she proceeds to say “cry…cry…cry…I want my mama.”

It is unknown why the child on the bus was crying.

A mother who spoke to KSAT said the driver “treated the child as if she was a child herself.”

“Having the other children follow her example, that’s just wrong,” she said.

The incident sparked outrage among parents after KSAT reported that the driver was still allowed to drive her regular route after the video was released on Monday.

By Wednesday, however, the school’s district superintendent told ABC News that “at this time, the bus driver in question is no longer employed.”
