EDMONTON – The Edmonton Rush Lacrosse team has made National Lacrosse League history by starting the season off with a 13-game winning streak.
Facing the Toronto Rock Sunday afternoon, the Rush broke the NLL single-season record for consecutive wins with a 13-10 victory at the Air Canada Centre.
The previous record for the longest NLL win streak was held by the 2007 Rochester Knighthawks.
Here’s how the Rush’s win streak stacks up compared to other professional leagues in North America:
- NBA – 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers – 33 games
- NFL – 2008-09 Indianapolis Colts – 23 games
- MLB – 1935 Chicago Cubs – 21 games
- NHL – 1992-93 Pittsburg Penguins – 17 games
The Rush will host the Colorado Mammoth at Rexall Place on Saturday night.
