Kevin gets ready for Earth Hour with tips from the City of Saskatoon

It’s tricky, isn’t it? Turning out the lights and shutting down the laptops.

We’re so connected to our technology, that the idea of spending an hour in the dark (well, candlelight) doesn’t appeal to all that many people! However, I’d like to attest to the tremendous benefit that can be attained by candlelight.

My family’s done earth hour before. My dad pulled out a deck of cards and we lit some candles, shared a few laughs and had a great time.

I guess what I’m saying is, “lights out” isn’t always the worst thing. You must find the good in any situation.

The Newman Glee Club takes Melissa back in time

While I was only a small child in the 90’s, today’s live on location really brought me back to growing up with my family. I definitely got a nostalgic feeling listen to the glee club perform Footloose as that is one of the many 80’s movies I used to watch with my mom.

I’m sure the show on weekend will probably do the same for the crowd as it did for me and bring back all sorts of memories. The Newman Glee Club was great to work with this morning.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

One thing I learned about them that I found to be interesting was that they are such an inclusive club. You don’t need to be a performing arts student nor have previous stage experience.

If you would like to check them out you can see their performance of “The Mixtape” at the Broadway Theatre on Mar. 29 and Mar.30.

SREDA explains its insights program to Kevin

I like stocks. Okay, because of Putin, I don’t much like stocks right now but on the whole, I really like stocks. I own quite a few shares.

Did I wander outside my comfort zone and say, “hey, this one’s got fun initials, let’s buy it!” No. I looked at the forecast of the market and the direction society is taking in which products it desires, and from that analysis (which I spent the better part of 4 years doing in my spare time before purchasing) I learned what to buy.

Sure, everything isn’t doing spectacularly right now, but I’m holding, not throwing it all around because they’re down a little.

This is my allegory for business owners, and for what SREDA Insight has to offer.

What’s the climate like? What’s coming? What do people want? What will they want? As a business owner, that’s information I really want. And SREDA has it. Coming soon, to an internet near you.

Jessica meets two bunnies Saskatoon SPCA has up for adoption

According to the SPCA rabbits don’t love carrots, or should not be picked up from their ears, something we may have learned from watching Bugs Bunny. They love bok choy, who knew?

Not I, I am a cat owner, not a rabbit owner, but apparently they make quite lovely pets! Lindsay and Tricia talked all about these little guys, Wakko and Yakko, as well as a gala they have coming us soon!
