Staff and students mourn little boy killed by snowmobile

MONTREAL – Parents, teachers and students at an English school in the west end of Montreal were mourning the death of a six-year-old boy who died on Sunday.

The accident took place in the early afternoon in Lantier, just north of the town of Ste-Agathe in the Laurentians.

He was hit by a snowmobile as he was riding down a hill on his toy sled.

The snowmobile was driven by his aunt, who did not see the child.

The boy was rushed to hospital but died later in the afternoon. His aunt was treated for shock.

Counsellors were brought into the school on Monday to help the children and staff cope with the tragic news.
