Expect traffic delays in West Kelowna due to road closures

WEST KELOWNA — Expect delays if you’re driving in West Kelowna as multiple construction projects have forced the closure of some streets around the district.

Phase two of the Casa Loma Drainage Project is underway from now until April 30 between 2545 and 2627 Campbell Road.

“Due to the narrow road width and significant pipe size, single lane alternating traffic with up to 15 minute delays for motorists will be required. Work will be performed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, with possible weekend work when required,” said District of West Kelowna Communications Supervisor, Kirsten Jones.

Another pair of construction projects has closed both Brown and Elliot Roads.

“Brown Road is now closed from Highway 97 to just south of Bering Road until approximately the end of May as the District completes Phase 1 of the Brown Road Streetscape Improvement Project,” said Jones.

“Elliott Road, between Main Street (Highway 97 southbound) and Dobbin Road (Highway 97 northbound) is closed for the construction of a RapidBus transit exchange, expected to be open in July.”

Officials from the district are thanking the public for their patience during these traffic disruptions.
