Sage advice from Kevin on keeping Grandma in the loop

It is always nice to talk to Sergeant Brian Trainor, especially on the heels of a story out of Global Edmonton.

Cat and mouse is an apt description for the ever-reaching arm of the law, as both agencies and criminals try to keep one step ahead of the other; the best step that the law has is almost always going to be public awareness, and as seniors work into the advent of the internet, their risk factor goes up.

Keep grandmamma in the loop, friends. You could save her a lot of money.

Jessica learned a new word during Saskatoon Style

Today I learned a new word- chambray. Chambray is not a colour, but rather a type of cloth like denim, which is perfect if you are into pastel colours.

With Easter and spring just around the corner I personally feel it’s time to lighten up my wardrobe and incorporate some of those feel good seasonal colours!

Maygen mentioned that pastel colours are for everone, the only catch is it depends on what colour.

For example, I would never go out and buy a pastel yellow top because I know that wouldn’t be a good colour on me. Turquoise, yes… Yellow, no.

It’s déjà vu for Kevin and the University Cup

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Before I sauntered out to do this interview, it occurred to me that I had been a part of this last year. I remembered the CIS event with Ron MacLean. I was in a sling, then. And it occurred to me, “aren’t there other cities? Didn’t Saskatoon do this last year?”

Turns out, I was right. Saskatoon given the honour of hosting not just one, but two in a row. Is there a better place to be next weekend? Sport the green and white and cheer a lot (call it CFL warmup) at the CUC. Totally worth it.

Melissa was at the U of S for 5 Days for the Homeless

When I first heard of the 5 days for the homeless I thought it was a neat concept. The five students at the U of S are not only being proactive in raising awareness on youth homelessness in our city but are also looking to understand the lives of others by walking in their shoes.

So far they have managed to make it through the first night. From talking to the participants, they expressed having lacked sleep but overall everything went well.

On top of sleeping on the street they are also without their phones and other forms of technology. They also mentioned that they were unsure of where or when they would get their next meal.

As we mentioned on the show this morning they are relying on donations alone.

If you would like to donate food you’ll find people in orange shirts accepting donations. All money raised from this campaign will benefit our local youth shelter.

Kevin discovers the The Fugitives

I was about 18 when my aunt and uncle gave me an iTunes gift card. $50 worth. I don’t think I ever fully spent it, but I seriously could with The Fugitives. Music I believe in.

This isn’t to say I don’t support artists; I own physical copies of K’naan, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theatre, Eminem…. But I wanted this, and they were barely done their live performance in our studio before I’d pressed “buy” on their newest album, Everything Will Happen.

I cannot wait to tear this album through.
