PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – The City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, is trying to ban taxis from using drive-through liquor stores.
Mayor Greg Dionne says in some cases under-age passengers have tried to get cab drivers to buy liquor.
People prohibited from buying booze have also been using taxi drivers as go-betweens at the drive-throughs.
Dionne says he has briefed council on this issue and plans to propose a bylaw to ban the practise.
Under the proposal, cabs would have stickers that drivers can point to let passengers know it’s illegal for a taxi to be seen using the drive-through.
