Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Beef (lean)
2 lbs Potatoes
1 Bunch Green Onions
1 Bunch Cilantro
1 White Onion
2 Eggs
Green Chili
Garlic Paste
Fresh Ginger
Method:
Boil Potatoes until fork tender. Drain.
Mash, add chopped cilantro, lemon juice, green chilies, and salt
Cook ground beef in a medium pot, with a teaspoon of garlic, and teaspoon of ginger. Half a teaspoon of green chili, and ¾ teaspoon of salt.
Add both types of onion (white, green)
Cook on medium to high heat until done.
Take off heat. Add chopped cilantro
Set aside to Cool
Forming the Patties:
Have 2 Bowls ready:
1 with Egg Mixture
1 with 1 cup of Semolina
Once Potatoes have cooled, take two tablespoons of potato mixture and spread in palm. Add a tablespoon of cooled meat mixture, the middle of potato mixture and form ball around it. Dip in egg mixture to coat, let excess drip off and coat in semolina mixture and deep fry unit golden brown.
Repeat until both potato and meat mixtures are finished.
Chana Bateta (Chickpea Soup)
1 Cup Chick peas
3 Potatoes (chopped into 1×1 cubes)
Lemon Juice
Turmeric
Cilantro
METHOD
Soak chickpeas over night. Drain. Boil in salted water.
Boil Chopped potatoes separately with ½ a teaspoon of turmeric, ¼ teaspoon red chili, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Once chickpeas have cooked add too potatoes. Once potatoes are fork tender, remove from heat. Add lemon juice, and cilantro.
