CALGARY – One of three Alberta triplets suffering from a rare eye cancer has had surgery to remove one of his eyes.
Leslie Low recently gave birth to triplets with a condition called retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer that is most common in young children.
Thomas, Mason and Luke are receiving treatment at Toronto’s Sick Children’s hospital.
On Friday, Thomas underwent surgery, which Low says lasted two and a half hours and went very well.
Thomas had his eye removed and now has a prosthetic eye.
The best news is that the young boy is now basically cancer free.
He will be wearing a bandage for a few days.
