TORONTO – All lanes of the Gardiner Expressway west of Jameson Avenue have reopened following a vehicle fire Monday morning but delays are expected as the back log of traffic clears.
Fire crews had been on scene dealing with a fire to a cube truck just after 7 a.m. on the right shoulder eastbound lane.
Lakeshore Boulevard was closed for a period of time but it was also reopened.
Commuters were advised to use the Queensway as an alternative as both those lanes were open.
Emergency crews were forced to close all lanes of the highway, along with all lanes of the Lake Shore as firefighters had to string their hoses across the roadway.
City salt trucks were also called in to help deal with ice in the area.
