Crews called to second water main break in Crescent Heights

CALGARY- Crews were called out to a major water main break on Monday night—the second on the same street.

Earlier in the day, a water main broke on 8 Ave. N.W. at Centre Street, causing water to gush from the underside of Centre Street Bridge onto the road below.

Part of Memorial Drive had to be closed, one home in Crescent Heights suffered major flooding, and about 20 other houses were impacted.

Crews had just finished repairing that break in the late afternoon, when a second break was reported about half a block west.

As a result, water service will not be restored in the neighbourhood by Monday night. Crews will resume repairs on Tuesday.
