Aerial footage: Aftermath of crash involving Salma Hayek’s brother
TORONTO — The younger brother of actress Salma Hayek was injured Sunday in a car crash that killed his passenger.
Sami Hayek, 40, was behind the wheel of a Ford GT when he lost control, crossed into an oncoming lane and smashed into a Toyota truck.
The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Hayek’s passenger, a 43-year-old man from Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hayek, who works as a furniture designer, was rushed to hospital suffering broken ribs and lacerations to his face.
The driver of the Toyota, a 20-year-old male, was taken to hospital with a broken foot.
