SASKATOON – Saskatoon radio personalities announced on Friday their three-day radiothon raised a record amount for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.
For the 12th year-in-a-row, the Children’s Hospital Radiothon benefitted the needs of the province’s children with resounding success.
Personalities from 98COOL FM, 92.9 The Bull and 600 CJWW were out in full force for the event at Centre Mall.
The grand total raised was $703,471 and change.
John and Sonja Remai matched all donations up to $250,000.
“John and Sonja Remai have helped to unite the people of Saskatchewan by supporting our cause and sharing their philanthropic message and support with others,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, president and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.
Funds raised will be used to purchase maternal and pediatric medical equipment.
Last year’s radiothon raised over $505,800.
The new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan is expected to break ground in 2014.
