The classmates of a White Rock man missing since last Thursday are trying to get any information on his disappearance.

Hai Tao (David) Liu was last seen last Thursday, and has not been heard from since.

Liu’s classmate Riley told Global News she and other students at West Coast College of Massage Therapy are asking people to jog their memory and call police with any information.

“We feel sick about it. We really just want to know where he is,” says Riley.

The group has posted a message on Vancouver sub-Reddit, asking for any tips.

Riley says even though she only knew him for one semester, Liu came across as a very quiet and polite man.

Cst. Shaileshni Molison with White Rock RCMP says they now have video of Liu in North Vancouver and that is his last known location.

“The investigation is ongoing and every single tip is being actively investigated,” says Molison.

She says Liu’s disappearance is very out of character.

“There is absolutely no history of disappearance, and that is what the concern is. We want to make sure he is safe. This is not a repeat offence for him.”

Liu is described as a 43-year-old Asian male, 5’10”, 155 pounds, with short black hair. Liu was last seen wearing black frame glasses, a dark green jacket, blue jeans, yellow and white running shoes.

Liu is known to use public transit. It is believed he could be on the North Shore of Vancouver.

If you know of his whereabouts, you are asked to contact the White Rock RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
