Hamilton Boys and Girls Club has announced a new event in partnership with students from Mohawk College’s Public Relations program. The first official open house will be held at the main Hamilton Boys and Girls Club location at 45 Ellis Avenue on Thursday, March 30.

This event will host local business owners, city officials and community members on a facility tour of the Ellis Avenue location. The facility tours will be led by children who are actively involved with the club to raise awareness for the variety of programs and amenities offered by the Club. These programs help the children who use the Club reach their full potential by providing an extensive selection of after school programming.

“If a child wants to pursue [higher] education but can’t afford it, there are always ways around that. Education should not be put on hold because of [a lack of] money,” says Glenn Harkness, Executive Director of the Hamilton Boys and Girls Club. “Alumni from the club have gone on to do amazing things in their respective fields,” says Harkness.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton and the Mohawk College Public Relations program students welcome all community members to this special open house. Tours will begin at 6:00PM with a chance for attendees to mingle afterwards to learn more about different initiatives and programs offered by the Club.
