Dance Educators Conference

Register today for our August 8th, 2017 conference at the beautiful LUNCHBOX THEATRE in Calgary, AB. Dance Studio Teachers, Dance Studio Owners, Early Childhood Educators, Classroom Teachers and all those aspiring to be (must be at least 18 years of age) are welcome. Conference participants will be greeted at 10:00AM with complimentary coffee and tea. The morning session will begin with a floor barre class followed by an improvisation exercise. The floor barre class is an excellent way to introduce technique and conditioning for dancers both in schools and at studios. Following the floor barre class, the morning sessions will engage both studio and classroom teachers through sessions inspired by the creative process, technique and classroom management. The afternoon session will begin with a class on mindfulness and the choreographic process. In the afternoon conference participants will have a choice of studio or classroom sessions to attend which will cover relevant topics in 21st century dance education. The day will conclude with a special guest speaker. Our mobile shop will also be set up so you can purchase all of our resources at the conference. You will leave the conference with a plethora of exercises, activities and strategies and skills, just enough to revive your engines and reinspire you to be the best dance educator you can be. Kenn Borek Air Ltd. is hosting the 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This years charity is The Military Museums (TMM). The Military Museums is seeking to construct a Barrier Free access directly to their Outdoor Event Space with a view to increasing the accessibility for any and all persons with a mobility disability. This event space is meant to facilitate weddings, gatherings, outdoor demonstrations, music festivals, art space, etc. In a future step, the TMM does intend to put a covering onto that space making it a year round space for all of the above. 1st Annual Crime Stoppers Open

Welcome to the 1st Annual Crime Stoppers Open golf tournament. We are delighted to have your company share our enthusiasm with the tournament and we invite you to be one of the key players for our special charity fundraising event. Our confidence grows daily, as we work to secure prominent sponsors while progressively moving towards a sold out event. The golf day begins at Elbow Spring Golf Club at 1:00 pm on Wednesday June 21, 2017. Players will want to come early to hit a bucket of balls, and have your team photo. A photographer will be on the course throughout the day and photos will be splashed on the big screen in the club house afterwards. This is a best ball scramble and a non-traditional shot gun start tournament. There will be food and refreshments throughout the day on the course…and an opportunity to participate in the $1,000,000.00 shoot out! We are currently seeking your support by way of sponsorships, team registrations, prizes and auction items. Without your support, we simply will not be able to continue to provide the valuable community service we do! Crime Stoppers is a registered charitable organization that provides the public with the ability to contact police anonymously with information regarding crime in the community. We are an extremely valuable crime fighting program run by volunteers and funded through public and private donations. Our value to the community is easily demonstrated through our impressive statistics, in 2016 Calgary Crime Stoppers received 4,198 Tips resulting in the following: 138 Arrests, 138 Cases being cleared, 612 Charges being laid, $393,826.00 in stolen property being recovered and $479,406.00 in Illegal Drugs being seized. Included in these figures are: 16 Stolen auto cases solved, 34 Theft/Robbery cases solved, 36 Drug cases solved, 18 Fraud cases solved and 100 Wanted cases solved. During 2016 the board of directors authorize over 140 Rewards were approved for a total liability of over $58,000.00! Calgary Crime Stoppers is a registered non-profit charity, partnered with the media, public and police to solve crime through anonymous tips. Crime Stoppers receives no government funding. The program receives funding through private donations and private corporations such as yours in cash and/or in-kind support.
