Donna Battaglia told Global News that while there is coverage for some procedures for trans people, more is needed because the cost of some is impossible for many, even with health insurance. She added that changes need to be made because the procedures can be life-saving. Battaglia also spoke about the need to educate health-care providers so that they can help more trans, gender diverse and queer individuals.
