Algonquin canoe builder Pinock Smith reflected on his craft and the canoes he has built saying “a lot of the materials used to construct canoes are not as good as they once were due to climate change.” He added, “I have pride in my ancestors for designing the canoe with its ingenious symmetry and simplicity.”
