The lack of doctors in Alberta and across the country has been a point of discussion for some time, and now the Alberta Medical Association said there has been a 78-per cent drop in the number of family doctors accepting new patients since 2020 – and there are no female physicians taking on more patients in Edmonton. As Lisa MacGregor reports, it’s a huge barrier for many accessing basic health care.
