Japan on Sunday marked the 78th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing on Hiroshima, where its mayor Kazumi Matsui urged the abolition of nuclear weapons and called world leaders’ notion of nuclear deterrence “folly.” A peace bell rang at 8:15 a.m. local time, the time the bomb was dropped.
