Pope prays for family of Vatican girl who disappeared 40 years ago

Nine days after being released from a Rome hospital for abdominal surgery, Pope Francis addressed the faithful at St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, offering prayers for the family of Emanuela Orlandi, a Vatican schoolgirl, who at the age of 15, went missing on June 25, 1983 — 40 years ago. The pope further prayed for victims of a violent prison riot in Honduras, where 46 women were killed last Tuesday.
