U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, when asked about a plea agreement Wednesday regarding federal charges brought against Hunter Biden, the son of U.S. President Joe Biden, Garland said he reserves comment on the matter for the U.S. attorney handling the case, David Weiss. Weiss was appointed to his post by then-President Donald Trump, and agreed to stay on the job into the Biden administration to complete a long-running probe into Hunter Biden’s finances. Hunter, who was charged with failing to pay federal income tax and illegally possessing a weapon, has reached a plea agreement with the Justice Department.
