Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay unveiled on Monday the design chosen for a new National Monument to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan. The design is based on the Indigenous medicine wheel and features four flak jackets draped on crosses. The crosses encircle a map of Afghanistan and 13 maple leaves, one for each year of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.
