Following the conclusion of a two-day NATO meeting in Brussels, Belgium, Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand announced Friday that Canada will increase its ongoing commitments to Latvia, by advancing its battle group to “brigade-level” and deploying 15 tanks and 50 vehicles by Fall 2023. 130 more Canadian Armed Forces personnel will be deployed by Spring 2024 to reinforce 800 troops already stationed in the Baltic region.
